Hey all,

Now here’s some presidential comedy – former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of Georgia is running for president on the Green Party Ticket.

This is the same Congresswoman who was nearly indicted back in 2006 for shoving a Capitol Police officer after he tried to stop her entering an area without her identifying pin.

Back then CNN reported: ‘According to an incident report filed by Capitol Police last month, McKinney “physically assaulted” McKenna, hitting him in the chest with a “closed fist.”‘

I remember back in 2000 when Ralph Nader ran as the Green Party candidate, it was a joke – but a joke that cost precious votes and helped to lead us into eight years of G.W. Bush.

This is a minor divide and conquer tactic, and very little else. But I must admit it is good for one thing – it made me laugh….

JacksonJesseHey All,

So far Barack Obama’s road to the White House has had only a few bumps from the African-American community.

Enter the Reverend Jesse Jackson (far too long in the public eye to be caught with an open mic).

Reverend Jackson’s comments caught during a supposed off camera (and mic) conservation would be the fuel for a major fire – if he were white….

The remarks, caught on an open mic that Jackson thought was off were:

“See, Barack’s been talking down to black people. … I want to cut his nuts off.”

Now of course there is a lot of apologizing going on, and a lot of excuses being given. The thing is – the comments reveal the thinking of the good Reverend at that time, and that is thinking that is not wanted.

How could he use words that conjure up images of black bodies hanging from southern tress horribly mutilated? Why use a phrase of emasculation? Why talk at all?

We’d all benefit from something my mother taught me years ago, “If you can’t say something good about someone, don’t say anything at all”

So for you Reverend Jackson I have the following to say….
