summer

Hey all,

Had a great time last night down at the ‘Ribs & Soul Festival’ on Hart Plaza. The smells were great with so many vendors offering great ribs and other foods, and the music was ‘outta sight! I caught a band called “1 oh 1” this was the first time I’d heard them, and I was impressed. Good strong original material and some good cover stuff too.

@‘Hot Sauce’ was in the house performing at the main stage beginning at 10:30pm and they rocked the house!

This eight man powerhouse from Detroit is a phenomenon! I’ve watched them through the years and I can honestly say they have come into their own. Performing on the Tom Joyner cruise (the party with a purpose) and soon at the Tom Joyner Family Reunion celebration, they are finally getting the exposure they rightly deserve (they also have a commercial out for McDonalds). If you ever get the chance to see them live – don’t hesitate, their “Real good, feel good music” is the real deal.

And don’t forget to check back here to find out about the grand opening of Spencer-Fields Record’s NEW MP3 STORE – ‘THE STORE’

It will open soon and will feature Mp3 downloads from my new CD “The Late Show”…. more about that later (there’s a LOT to tell).

Get back around Wednesday and we’ll talk….

See ya!

Hey all,

Hope you’ve been enjoying the summer, it goes by so quickly and it seems that so much we’ve planned to do just doesn’t get done. This past week I got a chance to watch the Hydroplane boats out on the Detroit river.

The weather was great for the day of the trials, but it got wet and windy for the first day of the actual races. Then we got a break and had beautiful weather that Sunday:

The boats were doing 145mph and better and it was great to see them in action. They also had air support out of Selfridge Air Force Base:

and I got a chance to see them lowering the boats into the water with a crane, I don’t remember that from years past:

And by the way, here’s a little music from the upcoming CD which is as yet unnamed. I hope to release it in a month or so….

Take a peek and see if you like it.

See ya!
